Your handpan teacher, Kristina Savkova

Music has been a part of my life since childhood. Even as a little girl, I was surrounded by sounds, having grown up in a musical family in Ukraine. This passion led me to music education, which I studied at the Academy of Music in Darmstadt.

As a highly qualified music teacher specializing in percussion and guitar, I have been teaching with great enthusiasm for over ten years. My goal is to provide my students with a solid musical foundation—be it through fundamentals like music reading and rhythm or through learning various instruments.

My teaching style
I place great value on structured learning concepts and well-prepared lessons. It's important to me that my students can develop freely musically. With empathy, patience, and friendliness, I create a supportive learning environment where everyone feels comfortable and safe. My lessons are individually tailored to the needs and learning styles of each student.

My passion for the handpan
I discovered the handpan at the end of 2012 – and it immediately captivated me. After completing my professional music studies and many years of teaching experience, I began to delve deeply into this special instrument.

What fascinates me about the handpan? It allows me to express myself musically with complete freedom. I can lose myself in the sounds, combine notes in new ways, and translate my emotions directly into the music.

With a variety of teaching materials and a personalized approach, I support my students in continuously improving their playing and musical understanding.
